Helping Students Start Strong This School Year: New Summer Skills Groups Begin the Week of July 6

Major transitions can bring excitement, new opportunities, and growth — but they can also bring stress, uncertainty, and big emotions. Whether students are preparing to enter high school or leaving home for college, learning practical coping skills before the school year starts can make a meaningful difference.

This summer, DBT Institute of Central Illinois is excited to offer two new DBT-informed skills groups beginning the week of July 6:

High School Ready: Skills for Incoming Freshmen

Designed to help students build confidence, manage emotions, navigate friendships, and develop skills for handling the challenges of entering high school.

College Ready: Skills for Incoming College Students

Focused on preparing students for increased independence, stress management, relationships, boundaries, and adjusting to college life.

Participants will learn practical skills to help with:

  • Managing stress and emotions
  • Building healthy relationships
  • Increasing confidence
  • Time management and motivation
  • Navigating change and uncertainty

These groups are designed to help students enter the school year feeling more prepared and supported—not just academically, but emotionally as well.

Package pricing is $350, and insurance may be accepted. Space will be limited.
