Debra DesCarpentrie, LPC

Debra DesCarpentrie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with clients navigating emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. She is currently completing training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and works to integrate evidence-based interventions with a warm, validating therapeutic style.

Debra is dedicated to helping clients better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable changes. She strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported, tailoring therapy to each individual. Debra values ethical practice, thoughtful reflection, ongoing professional growth, and is committed to providing high-quality care. She believes therapy works best when clients feel empowered, understood, and actively involved in their own growth.

Debra earned her B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Military Resilience from Liberty University. A large portion of her undergraduate work focused on trauma healing and resilience in military families. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lincoln Christian University. During her internship, she provided care in a community counseling center and worked with unhoused populations in Peoria, Illinois. She has been working in a private counseling practice and is excited to be joining DBTICI.
