Frequently Asked Questions

How long are therapy sessions?

Your initial intake appointment is 60 minutes. Ongoing individual therapy sessions are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on your treatment needs. DBT skills groups are 90 minutes in length.

What does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on the type of service provided and your insurance benefits. Please contact our office by phone or email for current private-pay rates or to receive a complimentary insurance benefits and cost estimate.

Most clients attend one individual therapy session per week. Clients enrolled in our Comprehensive DBT Program also participate in one weekly DBT skills group.

If you plan to use insurance, your plan may cover all or a portion of your treatment. Please note that our insurance verification is provided as a courtesy and is not a guarantee of insurance coverage or payment.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We are in-network with:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
  • Cigna
  • Aetna
  • UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
  • Illinois State University Student Health Insurance

We also welcome private-pay clients and can provide superbills for those seeking out-of-network reimbursement.

As a courtesy, we submit claims directly to your insurance company. Any applicable copayments, coinsurance, or deductible amounts are collected at the time of your appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments (no-shows), are subject to the following fees:

  • Individual Therapy: $150
  • Group Therapy: $40

If your therapist has availability, you may reschedule your individual appointment by the end of the same week (Friday) to avoid the late cancellation fee.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • HSA/FSA cards
  • Debit cards
  • Major credit cards

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. For clients using insurance, any copayments, coinsurance, or deductible amounts are collected at each visit.

Where should I park?

Parking availability in downtown Bloomington may change due to construction and city events. We recommend checking the City of Bloomington's downtown parking information before your visit. Please allow extra time to find parking.
